Celebrities on the Cross
ASN Building, The Rocks, Sydney – March 1998

This exhibition is a continuation from “Humanity on the Cross” but instead focuses on women who are admired and respected in our modern day society. Each celebrity chose a word to describe their personal driving force that helps them achieve their goals, i.e. Trust, Focus, Commitment, Dynamic, Strength, and Passion. The exhibition was held in conjuction with “The United Nations Developement Fund for Women” (UNIFEM) and “International Women’s Day.”

The exhibition received a great deal of TV coverage and media publicity including “The Today Show,” “Midday Show,” and ”E News.” Snapshots and plastering of Elle McFeast’s bottom was done on “My Big Bottom” screened Novemeber 1997 and March 1998. Individual pieces were auctioned at the Charity Gala Auction night MC’d by Elle McFeast and televised on the late night channel 10 news.

Celebrities involved with the project include: Sigrid Thornton, Tania Kernaghan, Jane Flemming, Kerrie Anne Kennerley, Chrissie Amphlett, and Kathy Lette.

The exhibition toured Melbourne at the Jackman Gallery in St. Kilda in September 1998.
